Gimme Some Gold

This poem is a fun one. It’s more about the rhythm and cadence and less about the words. I originally envisioned it as part of a slam poetry reading event, but settled on just writing it down. It’s all part of understanding your poetry.

Gimme some gold
Now we got gold and pearls
Gimme gold and silver
Gimme all the way
No we got gold and pearls
I said gold, pearls and silver
We got all gold and pearls
Now it’s golden you, it’s gold and pearl
Now it’s silver and gold
Nah nah nah
You see we got golden you, we got all gold and pearls
Yeah we got gold and pearls
We got gold and pearls
You know we got golden you, we got all golden your pearls
Yeah we got golden you, yeah yeah
