Waiting in an Airport

Waiting in an airport

Waiting in an airport,
the terminal is empty.
Most of the travelers have departed
flying to their destinations.
But I sit here alone.

The scenery of the departure gate,
is nothing more than a
desolate land.

The place is too quiet,
I’m sure that’s because
it’s the off-season.

If only the snow could melt.
If only spring would come.
If only I could go home.

I take out my phone from my pocket and check the time.

“I’ve been waiting for a while.”

“Hm?”

I look around the gate and see that there is an old man standing there.
He seems to be a traveler like me.

“Hm…ah, hello?”

He speaks to me with a cheerful smile on his face.

“Ahh, yes. I’m sorry.”

“No, I’m sorry. I didn’t hear what you said.”

“Ah, no, it’s nothing, I’m just saying hi.”

Some of the busiest (and my least favorite) airports in the world:

  • Incheon International Airport, Seoul, South Korea
  • Tokyo International Airport, Japan
  • Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong, China
  • Singapore Changi Airport, Singapore
  • Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, U.S.A.
  • Honolulu International Airport, Hawaii, U.S.A.
  • Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey, U.S.A.
